3RD SECTOR NOTICEBOARD
Our third sector officers, Peter & Jean Rookes, participate in a number of organisations on behalf of Birmingham Council of Faiths in order to raise the profile of faith organisations in the voluntary and community sector and ensure that the faith point of view is heard.
These organisations include the Birmingham Voluntary Services Council and the 3rd Sector Assembly - including the Health and Social Care Network and VCS Matters (the network for children and young people). They also represent BCF at the BeBirmingham Health and Wellbeing Partnership and the Core Group of Birmingham LINk (Local Involvement Network). This is the forum for the public voice to be heard in the planning and operation of health and social care services in the city.
The intention of their new online noticeboard is to provide reports of significant issues which have been discussed in these forums, with links to websites where appropriate, and provide news of forthcoming events. The LINk meetings are open to members of the public to attend and the 3rd Sector Assembly to members of affiliated organisations (including BCF), although only the nominated representatives can vote.
The noticeboard is still a work in progress and can be accessed by clicking on the link above. Jean and Peter decided that it was more important to launch it right away so as to give access to the information it contains, rather than wait until the perfect information site was created.
If you have any views or questions on any of these issues, please feel free to place them on the noticeboard or contact Peter & Jean by e-mail.
